PASTOR GREGORY has been reassigned from his Associate Ministerial position at his liberal mega-church in the suburban Midwest to the head Pastoral position of an ultra-conservative small congregation in the Deep South. But after six months of not being able to generate new members, and running off some of the few that were there, his new parishioners want him out, out, out… especially the women’s auxiliary chairperson, SISTER DOUGLAS. She hasn’t liked him from the start and is now aggressively campaigning for his oust. Gregory could use a miracle. One Sunday during service, sweet, innocent, soprano-voiced SISTER WILMA gets “the spirit” and does the unthinkable…. takes off her clothes…. and right in the middle of her solo! Well, Pastor Gregory, believing it to be just a strange but isolated incident, turns the other cheek, particularly since it woke everyone up for his sermon. But it happens again the next Sunday, and the next. By now the women parishioners are disgusted. The men are thrilled. And Sister Douglas is outraged. However, it’s the long-awaited answer to Pastor Gregory’s prayer as this “Baptist Church turned Booty Club” is now busting at the seams with brand new members, and tips (uh, make that tithes). Bay Ridge has now become a media spectacle, much to the chagrin of the conservative MAYOR REMBOLDT, who would prefer that his beloved town remain “wholesome and much less exposed.” He threatens to pull the church’s funding if he reads any more stories about “the good Pastor’s pardoning of the parishioner’s panty pandering.” But just like a modern-day Moses, Pastor Gregory calms this sea of confusion in a hallelujah-erupting sermon at the end when the whole town comes out to see The Sunday Morning Stripper.
